The Mayfield Trojans baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Artesia Bulldogs to 7 in the Trojans non-league win on Thursday.

The Trojans now hold a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hobbs for a non-league test on Tuesday, March 18. Mayfield will play a Eagles team coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 2-5.

With the defeat, Artesia drops to 2-2 on the year. The Bulldogs host Deming (Deming, NM) to play the Wildcats in a non-league test on Thursday, March 20. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 6-2. Deming won 11-1 in their recent non-league test against Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM)
