Weimar Wildcats (Weimar, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Needville Bluejays (Needville, TX), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Flatonia for a 2A Region IV District 29 challenge on Friday, March 18. Weimar will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Smithville (Smithville, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Needville falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Bluejays travel to La Marque (La Marque, TX) to face the Cougars in a 4A Region IV District 25 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
