In Friday's league game, the host Mount Airy Granite Bears baseball team scored a close 4-3 win over the South Stokes Sauras.

The Granite Bears (3-6) will now prepare for their game against Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Rams go into the Northwest 1A game with a 4-5 record. In their last game, Starmount was tipped by North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 5-4, in a league game.

Next, the Sauras play the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) in a Northwest 1A game, on Tuesday, March 25. South Stokes will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Cardinals go into the game with a 6-2 record after their 21-0 non-league loss to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).
