In Thursday's non-league bout, the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) baseball squad overwhelmed the host West Carroll Thunder (Savanna, IL), by a tally of 20-5.

Next up, the Comets encounter the Morrison Mustangs (Morrison, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, March 28. Newman Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Mustangs enter the bout with a 2-3 record after their 4-2 non-league loss to Stark County (Toulon, IL).
