The Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) softball nipped the host Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC), 6-5 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Aces (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC). The Panthers go into the Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A bout with a 1-4 record. In their last bout, Pasquotank County was edged by Holmes (Edenton, NC), 7-0, in a league bout.
