The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) and the visiting Hobbton Wildcats (Newton Grove, NC), observed Pender's softball team prevail over Hobbton by a tally of 12-2.

The Patriots (10-3) will now prepare for their bout against Fairmont (Fairmont, NC). The Golden Tornadoes go into the non-league bout with a 2-6 record. In their last bout, Fairmont was routed by Midway (Dunn, NC), 12-2, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the North Duplin Rebels (Calypso, NC) in a Carolina 1A bout, on Tuesday, April 1. Hobbton will attempt to advance on its 3-9 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 6-1 record after their 12-7 non-league win over East Duplin (Beulaville, NC).
