In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Ironton Fighting Tigers softball team scored a tight 8-7 win over the Huntington Highlanders.

The Fighting Tigers (4-0) will now prepare for their match against Fairland (Proctorville, OH). The Dragons come into the Ohio Valley match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Fairland was nipped by Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth, OH), 3-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Highlanders confront the Spring Valley Timberwolves (Huntington, WV) in a Mountain State match, on Tuesday, April 1. Huntington will attempt to better on its 2-8 season record. The Timberwolves come into the match with a 3-3 record after their 7-2 league loss to Hurricane (Hurricane, WV).
