Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC) fans left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), 5-3 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Hough advances its record to 2-1 on the season. The Huskies host North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Queen City 3A/4A match on Tuesday, March 11. The Vikings come into the match with a record of 1-3.

The Sabres now have a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Watauga for a non-league match on Saturday, March 8. South Mecklenburg will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 10-5 non-league win over Glenn (Kernersville, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-1.
