In Thursday's league game, the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres baseball team scored a close 5-2 win over the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves.

The Sabres (13-7) will now prepare for their game against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Titans go into the non-league game with a 14-3 record. In their last game, Hopewell nudged West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 5-1, in a league game.
