The crowd at Friday's league match between the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) and the visiting Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), saw R-S Central's softball squad nip Polk County by a count of 4-1.

The Hilltoppers now sport a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Patton for a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 16. R-S Central will face a Panthers squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Polk County falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Wolverines host East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A match on Monday, April 15.
