In Thursday's non-league contest, the Homestead Spartans (Fort Wayne, IN) softball team held off the visiting DeKalb Barons (Waterloo, IN), by a margin of 4-3.

With the triumph, Homestead moves its record to 6-8 on the year. The Spartans host Columbia City (Columbia City, IN) to play the Eagles in a non-league contest on Friday, April 26. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 9-3. Columbia City lost 2-1 in their recent league contest against Huntington North (Huntington, IN)

In their next game, the Barons play the Elkhart Lions (Elkhart, IN) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, April 27. DeKalb will attempt to move on its 7-8 season record. The Lions come into the contest with a 5-6 record after their 3-2 league win over Glenn (Walkerton, IN).
