In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates baseball team scored a close 18-13 win over the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs.

The Pirates (11-11) will now prepare for their game against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans go into the Southern Carolina 4A game with a 12-11 record. In their last game, Sun Valley nudged Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC), 13-6, in a non-league game.
