The Metro-East Lutheran Knights baseball team (Edwardsville, IL), was overwhelmed 8-3 in Thursday's non-league outing with the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL)

The Piasa Birds now hold a 15-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carlinville for a South Central outing on Friday, April 28. Southwestern will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 6-5 league loss to Gillespie (Gillespie, IL). The Cavaliers record now stands at 13-2.

Next, the Knights confront the Maplewood-Richmond Heights Blue Devils (Maplewood, MO) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, April 29. Metro-East Lutheran will attempt to advance on its 5-12 season record. The Blue Devils go into the outing with a 4-11 record after their 16-8 non-league loss to Lutheran North (St. Louis, MO).
