The Independence Patriots baseball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles to 14 in the Patriots league win on Friday.

The Patriots now hold a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rocky River for a Southwestern 4A test on Friday, April 11. Independence will play a Ravens team coming off a 18-0 league loss to Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Ravens record now stands at 0-9.

With the defeat, East Mecklenburg drops to 10-7 on the year. The Eagles travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to play the Cougars in a Southwestern 4A test on Tuesday, April 8. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 15-2. Charlotte Catholic won 12-0 in their recent league test against Butler (Matthews, NC)
