The New Prairie Cougars triumphed over the visiting Portage Indians softball squad by a count of 11-1 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the La Porte Slicers (La Porte, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, May 28. New Prairie will attempt to upgrade on its 21-6 season record. The Slicers enter the challenge with a 12-16 record after their 18-1 non-league loss to South Central (Union Mills, IN).

The Indians (9-18) will now prepare for their challenge against Hebron (Hebron, IN). The Hawks enter the non-league challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Hebron was routed by Rensselaer Central (Rensselaer, IN), 14-5, in a non-league challenge.
