East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles confront the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 9. East Mecklenburg will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 9-0 league win over Monroe (Monroe, NC).

The Bulldogs now have a 8-9 record.
