In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Crestwood Cadets softball team scored a tight 5-4 win over the Newman Catholic Knights.

The Cadets (16-5) will now prepare for their match against Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA). The Vikings come into the Northeast Iowa match with a 13-8 record. In their last match, Decorah-North Winneshiek was nipped by Jefferson (Cedar Rapids, IA), 9-2, in a non-league match.
