In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting La Vernia Bears volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Troy Trojans.

The Bears (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Leander (Leander, TX). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Leander beat Georgetown (Georgetown, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Trojans meet the Clear Falls Knights (League City, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 15. Troy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Santa Fe (Santa Fe, TX).
