Long Creek Dragons (New Braunfels, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Dragons (5-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Luling (Luling, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Luling was beaten by Savio (Austin, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Tigers meet the Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 19. Smithville will attempt to advance on its 0-5 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 7-3 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Tournament Opponent (, ).
