In Friday's non-league match, the host Hickory Grove Christian Lions football squad scored a decisive 49-12 victory over the Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy Eagles.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Cabarrus Stallions (Concord, NC). The Stallions enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Cabarrus Stallions was crushed by Cincinnati (Cincinnati, OH), 31-0, in a non-league battle.

The Eagles now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to South Davidson for a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will play a Wildcats team coming off a 21-0 non-league win over Trinity (Trinity, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.
