Tennessee High School Football - Riverdale thwarted by Knoxville Catholic

August 22, 2025: Murfreesboro, TN 37128

Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish (Knoxville, TN) boosters left the game content Friday as they observed their football squad top the host Riverdale Warriors (Murfreesboro, TN), 20-6 in a non-league test.

The Fighting Irish now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Anderson County for a non-league test on Thursday, August 28. Knoxville Catholic will meet a Mavericks squad coming off a 18-7 non-league win over Powell (Powell, TN). The Mavericks record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Riverdale drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Father Ryan (Nashville, TN) to meet the Irish in a non-league test on Friday, August 29. The Irish come into the test with a record of 1-0. Father Ryan won 24-13 in their recent non-league challenge against Overton (Nashville, TN)
