New Mexico High School Football - West Mesa loses to St. Pius X

August 23, 2025: Albuquerque, NM 87120

St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) boosters were content Saturday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), 47-29 in a non-league match.

The Sartans (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Grants (Grants, NM). The Pirates come into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Grants defeated Miyamura (Gallup, NM), 36-14, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM) in a non-league battle, on Friday, August 29. West Mesa will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Trojans go into the battle with a 0-1 record after their 61-6 non-league loss to Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM).
