New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors (Roanoke, VA), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, New Covenant improves its record to 4-2 on the season. The Gryphons travel to Forsyth Country Day (Lewisville, NC) to encounter the Furies in a non-league test on Saturday, August 24. The Furies go into the test with a record of 1-3. Forsyth Country Day lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Caldwell Academy (Greensboro, NC)

The Conquerors now own a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Timberlake Christian for a non-league test on Friday, August 30. Southwest Virginia Academy will encounter a Tornadoes squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy (Moneta, VA). The Tornadoes record now stands at 8-0.
