The Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ) football nudged the visiting St. Augustine Prep Hermits (Richland, NJ), 21-16 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Griffins clash with the Long Branch Green Wave (Long Branch, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 1. Donovan Catholic will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Green Wave enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 23-21 non-league win over Piscataway (Piscataway, NJ).

The Hermits (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against St. Joseph (Hammonton, NJ). The Wildcats enter the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, St. Joseph was nudged by Carteret (Carteret, NJ), 42-12, in a non-league bout.
