The Shelby Golden Lions soccer squad scored 3 points and held the host Kings Mountain Mountaineers to 0 in the Golden Lions non-league victory on Monday.
The Golden Lions now hold a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Highland Tech for a Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A bout on Wednesday, August 27. Shelby will play a Rams squad coming off a 7-1 league win over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Rams record now stands at 4-1.
With the loss, Kings Mountain moves to 1-2 on the year. The Mountaineers host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (Mooresboro, NC) to play the Gryphons in a non-league bout on Wednesday, September 3. The Gryphons go into the bout with a record of 3-1. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy won 9-0 in their recent league bout against Sugar Creek Charter (Charlotte, NC)
