Groves Falcons (Beverly Hills, MI) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football squad smash the visiting University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs (Detroit, MI), 42-7 in a non-league match.

The Falcons (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Oxford (Oxford, MI). The Wildcats come into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Oxford routed Hartland (Hartland, MI), 23-7, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Cubs confront the Brother Rice Warriors (Bloomfield Hills, MI) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. University of Detroit Jesuit will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Warriors go into the battle with a 0-1 record after their 14-10 non-league loss to Dakota (Macomb, MI).
