In Friday's non-league game, the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) football team edged the host Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 14-9.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Irmo for a non-league outing on Friday, September 5. Butler will clash with a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 35-32 non-league win over James F. Byrnes (Duncan, SC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 2-0.

The Cardinals (1-1) will now prepare for their game against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Hawks enter the non-league game with a 0-2 record.
