In Friday's non-league match, the host Hickory Grove Christian Lions football team scored a big 43-0 win over the Cabarrus Stallions Stallions.

In their next game, the Lions play the South Wake Lions (Apex, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 5. Hickory Grove Christian will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 0-1 record after their 38-0 non-league loss to Harrells Christian Academy (Harrells, NC).

With the defeat, Cabarrus Stallions drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Stallions host Georgia Force Christian (Sugar Hill, GA) to face the Blue Knights in a Southeastern Independent challenge on Saturday, September 6. The Blue Knights go into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Georgia Force Christian lost 12-6 in their recent league challenge against South Carolina Spartans (Rock Hill, SC)
