In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Rootstown Rovers football squad scored a decisive 44-6 triumph over the Springfield Spartans.

The Rovers (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Trinity (Garfield Heights, OH). The Trojans come into the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Trinity was routed by Western Reserve (Berlin Center, OH), 33-18, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Spartans meet the Minerva Lions (Minerva, OH) in a non-league test, on Friday, September 5. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 1-1 record after their 23-8 non-league win over Crestwood (Mantua, OH).
