The Vanguard Academy Beethoven volleyball squad (Edinburg, TX), was edged 2-1 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX)

The Cowboys (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Mercedes (Mercedes, TX). The Tigers enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 3-3 record.
