North Carolina High School Football - Fike edged by Ashley

The Ashley Screaming Eagle held off the host Fike Golden Demons football squad by a margin of 45-42 in Friday's non-league test.

The Screaming Eagle now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Topsail for a Carolina Coast 6A/7A/8A test on Friday, September 19. Ashley will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 46-6 non-league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 0-4.

With the defeat, Fike drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Golden demons travel to Rocky Mount (Rocky Mount, NC) to meet the Gryphons in a Big East 5A/6A test on Friday, September 19. The Gryphons come into the test with a record of 3-1. Rocky Mount won 41-14 in their recent non-league test against Vance County (Henderson, NC)
