Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Poland Knights (Poland, ME), 39-14 in a league match.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Oak Hill (Sabattus, ME). The Raiders come into the D South battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Oak Hill prevailed over Morse (Bath, ME), 32-6, in a non-league battle.

The Knights now have a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mountain Valley for a D South test on Friday, September 19. Poland will meet a Falcons squad coming off a 42-0 league loss to Winthrop (Winthrop, ME). The Falcons record now stands at 0-2.
