September 12, 2025: Wilmington, NC 28401 Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC), saw New Hanover's soccer squad knock off Cardinal Gibbons by a count of 4-1.
The Wildcats (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions enter the Carolina Coast 6A/7A/8A match with a 7-4 record. In their last match, North Brunswick nipped Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC), 2-1, in a non-league match.
The Crusaders now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wake Forest for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 16. Cardinal Gibbons will meet a Cougars team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 1-4.
