California High School Football - Downey loses to Edison

September 19, 2025: Stockton, CA 95206

Edison Vikings (Stockton, CA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team overcome the visiting Downey Knights (Modesto, CA), 48-40 in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Vikings play the Armijo Royals (Fairfield, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 26. Edison will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Royals go into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 57-22 non-league win over Modesto Christian (Modesto, CA).

With the defeat, Downey drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Knights host Gregori (Modesto, CA) to meet the Jaguars in a Central California - CCAL test on Friday, October 3. The Jaguars come into the test with a record of 1-4. Gregori lost 37-7 in their recent non-league test against Los Banos (Los Banos, CA)
