The Charlotte Catholic Cougars held off the host Independence Patriots football team by a count of 36-35 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Charlotte Catholic upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Cougars host Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC) to encounter the CMS Athletics in a 4A West Conference 59 outing on Friday, September 30. The CMS Athletics go into the outing with a record of 1-4. Rocky River won 39-0 in their recent league outing against East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
