In Friday's league game, the Poth Pirates (Poth, TX) football team triumphed over the visiting Karnes City Badgers (Karnes City, TX), by a tally of 42-6.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) in a 3A-2 Region IV District 15 game, on Friday, October 3. Poth will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record. The Mustangs enter the game with a 4-0 record after their 7-6 league win over Cotulla (Cotulla, TX).
