Arizona High School Football - Valley Vista can't hold off Mountain Ridge

Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football squad nudge the host Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ), 41-39 in a non-league match.

The Mountain Lions (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Liberty (Peoria, AZ). The Lions come into the 6A Desert Valley match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Liberty tipped Pinnacle (Phoenix, AZ), 39-8, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Monsoon meet the Hamilton Huskies (Chandler, AZ) in a 6A Fiesta match, on Friday, October 3. Valley Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Huskies come into the match with a 5-0 record after their 50-10 non-league win over Centennial (Peoria, AZ).
