The Athens Academy Spartans volleyball team (Athens, GA), was edged 2-1 in Wednesday's league challenge with the host Banks County Leopards (Homer, GA)

The Leopards (24-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA). The Storm come into the 2A Area 8 challenge with a 24-10 record. In their last challenge, Providence Christian Academy nudged East Jackson (Commerce, GA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans encounter the Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA) in a 2A Area 8 challenge, on Wednesday, September 27. Athens Academy will attempt to move on its 7-16 season record.
