The Mercedes Tigers football team (Mercedes, TX), dropped 56-40 in Friday's non-league bout with the visiting Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX)

With the win, Sharyland advances its record to 3-2 on the season. The Rattlers travel to Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX) to encounter the Falcons in a non-league bout on Friday, October 4. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Los Fresnos won 38-14 in their recent non-league bout against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)

The Tigers now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Edcouch-Elsa for a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 bout on Friday, October 11. Mercedes will encounter a Yellowjackets team coming off a 28-21 non-league loss to Port Isabel (Port Isabel, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 3-2.
