Ohio High School Football - Milford crushed by Anderson
September 28, 2024: Milford, OH 45150 Anderson Raptors (Cincinnati, OH) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Milford Eagles (Milford, OH), 57-6 in a league battle.
With the win, Anderson improves its record to 6-0 on the season. The Raptors host Turpin (Cincinnati, OH) to play the Spartans in a Eastern Cincinnati battle on Friday, October 4. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 2-4. Turpin lost 17-14 in their recent league battle against West Clermont (Cincinnati, OH)
The Eagles now have a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Lebanon for a Eastern Cincinnati battle on Friday, October 4. Milford will play a Warriors team coming off a 38-7 league loss to Kings (Kings Mill, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 3-3.
First Quarter
Milford opened the game with the ball, and the Eagles made quick work of their first drive. 43 seconds into the game, senior quarterback Luke Brand connected with Carter Ings on a 78-yard touchdown. The PAT was no good, but Milford still held a 6-0 lead. The Raptors were able to answer on the ensuing drive, however, as Justice Burnam found Aiden McClanahan from 12 yards out to tie it and Lucas Callahan made the extra point to put Anderson in front, 7-6.. With 1:55 to go in the quarter, Burnam threw a 49-yard pass to Trace Jallick for a touchdown to extend the Raptor lead. Callahan made the PAT once again and Anderson took a 14-6 lead over Milford into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
With 10:07 remaining in the first half, Anderson's Jayonn Saunders ran for a 20-yard touchdown to make it a two-score game. Lucas Callahan kicked his third extra point to give the Raptors a 21-6 lead. The Raptors got the ball back and were able to score once again less than two minutes later when Burnam connected with McClanahan for a 22-yard touchdown and the latter's second receiving touchdown of the day. With 4:58 left, Burnam found McClanahan for a third time from eight yards away. Burnam took it himself on the two-point conversion and made it into the end zone to extend Anderson's lead to 30 at 36-6. The Raptors were able to gain possession once more before halftime, and made the most of it as Trace Jallick caught his second touchdown of the half from Burnam for 4 yards. Anderson took a big 43-6 lead into the locker room as the game entered halftime.
Third Quarter
The third quarter started with a running clock, but the Raptors kept the momentum as sophomore Nick Rosiello ran 3 yards for an Anderson touchdown with 6:25 remaining in the third quarter. Maddux Snider made the PAT to make it 50-6 Raptors. The quarter concluded with Anderson still leading Milford 50-6.
Fourth Quarter
The Raptors scored again to begin the fourth as senior Nick Martin caught a Tegan Jallick pass for a 14-yard touchdown 45 seconds into the quarter. Snider's extra point gave Anderson a 57-6 lead. The Raptor lead held for the rest of the game, and Anderson emerged big winners over Milford as they improved to 6-0 this season.
