The Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets edged the visiting Red River Bulldogs football team by a score of 26-24 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Crowley Gent (Crowley, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 12. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Gent enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 24-13 non-league loss to Port Barre (Port Barre, LA).

The Bulldogs (0-2) will now prepare for their test against St. Mary (Natchitoches, LA). The Tigers come into the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, St. Mary was nipped by Bunkie (Bunkie, LA), 42-6, in a non-league test.
