The Columbus Cardinals volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Giddings Buffaloes to 1 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cardinals now have a 22-4 record. They play next when they travel to Palacios for a 3A Region IV District 25 game on Tuesday, September 9. Columbus will confront a Sharks squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Van Vleck (Van Vleck, TX). The Sharks record now stands at 13-7.

The Buffaloes (13-18) will now prepare for their game against Schulenburg (Schulenburg, TX). The Shorthorns go into the non-league game with a 18-12 record. In their last game, Schulenburg was dropped by Burton (Burton, TX), 3-0, in a non-league game.
