Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) and the visiting Walker Wildcats (Walker, LA), observed Ruston's volleyball team hold off Walker by a count of 2-1.

The Bearcats (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Catholic - N.I. (New Iberia, LA). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Catholic - N.I. tipped Episcopal of Acadiana (Cade, LA), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Byrd for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 6.
