Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) and the visiting Happy Valley Warriors (Elizabethton, TN), observed Avery County's volleyball team top Happy Valley by a count of 2-0.

The Vikings (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 2-3 record.
