In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Highland Bulldogs volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Gillespie Miners.

The Bulldogs (9-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL). The Rams come into the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record.

Next, the Miners meet the Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Thursday, September 11. Gillespie will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Comets come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Christ Our Rock Lutheran (Centralia, IL).
