Preview: Liberty Eagles vs. Brentsville District Tigers

Liberty has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Brentsville District Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Brentsville District is ranked 144th).

Liberty suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Handley 82-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Liberty has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Brentsville District didn't have too much trouble with Warren County at home on Friday as they won 51-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brentsville District.

Brentsville District can attribute much of their success to Payton Brown, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Brooke lynn Miller, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Marvin, who scored six points along with two steals.

Liberty bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for Brentsville District, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Liberty took a serious blow against Brentsville District when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 57-12. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Liberty was down 28-8.
