Preview: Southeast Alamance Stallions vs. Martin County Knights
Southeast Alamance has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Martin County Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Southeast Alamance is ranked 303rd, while Martin County is ranked 293rd).
Last Friday, Southeast Alamance was beaten by Cummings 47-14.
Despite the defeat, Southeast Alamance saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Bunker rushed for 134 yards.
Meanwhile, even though Bertie scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Martin County still came out on top. Martin County walked away with a 41-32 victory over Bertie. The win made it back-to-back wins for Martin County.
Martin County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaquavion Sheppard led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Sheppard hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. Kwahli Basnight also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Cummings' victory bumped their season record to 8-2 while Southeast Alamance's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
