Preview: Sage Ridge Scorpions vs. Whittell Warriors
The Sage Ridge Scorpions will head out on the road to challenge the Whittell Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sage Ridge is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Sage Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Coleville, taking the game 46-38. The victory was just what Sage Ridge needed coming off of a 61-23 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Whittell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Coleville, falling 56-16. That's two games in a row now that Whittell has lost by exactly 40 points.
Sage Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Whittell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Sage Ridge against Whittell in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 58-22 win. Does Sage Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whittell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
