It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Sharpsville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Hickory Hornets 5-3. The victory was nothing new for Sharpsville as they're now sitting on six straight.

Carter Dejulia and Caullin Summers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dejulia didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Summers struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Dejulia scored a run while going 3-for-5, while Summers went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Moyer, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Sharpsville pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hickory, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
