Johnston of Iowa is one of three programs that will head into 2025-26 with a streak of 50 consecutive wins or more.

At the end of the 2023-24 high school girls basketball season, Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.) had the longest active win streak and no one else was even close. The Red Knights finished with 131 straight wins, added 13 more this year and ultimately pushed the national record to 144 wins in a row.

Saco/Whitewater/Hinsdale (Saco, Mont.) was the only other school over 50 in a row (52) heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Things are different this spring as five schools have over 48 wins in a row with a high of 55. Johnston (Iowa) leads the group with 55 in a row, going 29-0 in 2024 and 26-0 this past season. Ridgeline (Millville, Utah) and O'Gorman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) are tied at No. 2 with 50 in a row, Bedford (N.H.) has 49 in a row and Lynden (Wash.) has 48.

Three schools finished with over 50 straight wins this year before having their streaks ended. In addition to Incarnate Word Academy, Saco/Whitewater/Hinsdale ran its streak to 66 in a row while Dalton (New York, N.Y.) saw its streak reach 58. A list of all-time longest win streaks can be found in the MaxPreps National High School Girls Basketball Record Book.

The current active win streaks list includes all teams with over 15 straight wins to end the 2024-25 season. Also included are teams that had records of 27-0 or better and all teams with 35 or more wins.
